Department of Islamiat
Message of The Chairman:
Alhamdu lillah, Allah has blessed us to take a humble step to raise the Department of Islamiat, Shariah and Law under the kind supervision of the Honorable Vice Chancellor of SBBU Sheringal. We are under the great shower of Allah’s (SWT) bounties that we are living in the fort of Islam. Today almost every student chooses a Discipline with a utilitarian approach that has a “market value” and gets him a job. This tendency has created an atmosphere of intellectual and practical mediocrity both at student and teacher level. Consequently nobody seems to be in pursuit of higher goals i.e. Human excellence, the very essence of Divine guidance and the sacred mission of prophet hood. Islamic studies conveniently caters for both temporal and spiritual aspects of Human life. Allah Guarantees our sustenance in this world and ultimate success in the hereafter .Alongside other disciplines taught at the University level Islamic studies ensures this Applied aspect flawlessly. Unlike others, this Discipline is based on Revelation and not on Hypotheses. We pray that we maintain a fine relationship with other Disciplines and get benefited from each other’s utility and importance.
“Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving, ‘He will send rain to you in abundance, ‘and give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”
[Surah Nuh, 71:10-12]
Vision:
This Department envisions a state of human excellence through cognition, comprehension, retention and understanding of knowledge and education of the Holy Quran, Sunnah and Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) by gradual development of intellectual faculties and practice.
